Our Story
Good Tree began the way most meaningful things do — small, sincere, and among friends.
A place to grow — in faith, in community, and in your own understanding of the Quran.
Our Roots
Before Good Tree had a name, it was a handful of women meeting in the quiet hours — between work, between family, between prayers.
They came with questions. They stayed for the conversation. And in reflecting on the Quran together, each of them found her own connection to the Divine deepening.
It became clear this couldn't stay a small circle. What they'd found — a way of meeting the Quran that felt honest, personal, and alive — belonged to anyone who wanted it.
So they opened the doors. Good Tree grew from that first circle of sincerity, and it still carries its spirit: come as you are, bring your questions, grow alongside others.
The Heart of Good Tree
Dr. Nadia Katrangi
Our chairwoman, lead instructor, and the teacher whose voice shaped that first circle. She has a rare gift for bringing the Quran to life in a way that's both rooted in tradition and honest about the questions we're all living with today.
Wherever you are, she meets you there — creating a welcoming space where every question is encouraged, and no one is made to feel behind.
Teaching and mentoring for 30+ years.

Five values that shape how we gather, teach, and grow — together.
Connection
Faith grows in the company of others. Here, you'll find brotherhood, sisterhood, and people who show up for one another.
Creativity
We find fresh, living ways to engage the Quran while staying rooted in tradition. Reverence doesn't have to be dull.
What We Believe
Trust
Trust in God, in yourself, in the people around you. We work to be a place that's safe to be uncertain in.
Curiosity
Bring an open heart and hard questions. Doubt and wonder aren't obstacles on the path to truth — they're part of it.
Generosity
Give freely — time, knowledge, care. Generosity is worship, and it's how a community is built.
Read these and think “these are my people”? That feeling is the whole invitation.
Our Mission
Good Tree Institute is a Quran-centered education institute in Arizona — dedicated to spiritual growth, community connection, and personal discovery through the Quran.
Our mission is an experiential Quranic education that nurtures exemplary individuals, strong communities, and a just society — study and reflection that helps you carry the Quran's timeless wisdom into everyday life.
Virtual and in-person, for all ages — classes, retreats, teen camps, new-Muslim support, and free programs open to everyone.
Our Roots
From that first circle, Good Tree has grown — the way a redwood does. From a single seed to deep roots, a sturdy trunk, and branches wide enough to shelter a whole community.
And it's still growing. As we nurture connection and care for the people who walk through our doors, our roots only deepen — so that Quran-centered learning and faith-rooted growth reach the next generation, and the one after that.
