Good Tree's Purpose

Good Tree Institute is a female-founded, community-focused Quranic institute fostering spiritual connection and personal discovery through the Quran. ​Based in Arizona, Good Tree provides virtual and in-person foundational Quranic courses for all ages, spiritual retreats, teen camps, support for new Muslims, and free Quranic programs and workshops for anyone to attend. Through the guidance of the Quran and Good Tree Chairman Dr. Nadia Katrangi, who has 20+ years of teaching experience, ​we are committed to creating a safe space for our community to focus on their spiritual health, explore the Quran, build a deep connection with God, and access Quranic teachings that are deeply rooted in tradition, yet culturally relevant. 

Good Tree's Roots

For years before Good Tree was formed, a small group of dedicated and focused women met regularly in the quiet hours between work, family obligations and worship time. Reflection and inquiry became the core of their discussions, and each woman personally discovered and deepened their relationship to the Divine. As this group expanded, it became evident that this discovery process should be universally available to anyone and everyone. At the core of Good Tree is chairman and lead instructor, Dr. Nadia Katrangi, who has a gift of bringing to life the words of the Quran, making them relevant for this moment in time and initiating meaningful discussion. Her approach is progressive in thinking, yet grounded in the faith’s traditions. What her students love about her teaching style is that she creates an environment where any question is welcome.

The meaning of Good Tree

Today, Good Tree is the equivalent of a redwood tree, one of the tallest tree species on the planet. From a tiny seed, it now boasts a thick sturdy trunk and strong branches home to many lush leaves and flowers that are awe-inspiring. As Good Tree grows as a community and continues to support community members in deepening their spiritual connection, Good Tree will only continue to grow and deepen its roots  for generations to come.
